Have you ever seen one of those commercials were they have several abused dogs at shelters with big pouty eyes? So sad and so real. Please help me stand up for all the neglected and abused dogs out there. I am looking for an idea or organization that I can help support. If anyone has any information I would be thrilled to get involved in something that could help a dog in need. Contact me at: thedoggymom@gmail.com

Saving on dog food!
In this economy everyone is looking to save a couple of dollars here and there. We all know how expensive dog food can be but that is just one bill that you simply cannot dispose of. However, you can lower the amount of money you are spending on dog food. Let me explain my case.

My dogs eat a dry food that coasts about $35 for a 20 lb. bag. Let's do the math: three bellies times 20 lbs. of food, doesn't go very far at all. So, I started to research ways that I could make my dogs food go further. I wanted to make them healthier, homemade meals(and I am not talking about table scraps. That behavior can lead to bad manners. That's a whole other topic.) but still incorporate their regular dry food. This is what I came up with: Half and half.
I was reading about healthy things that you can prepare for your dog such as carrots, peas, brown rice and boiled chicken. You want to make sure that they are getting a balanced diet that is nutrious and filling. Just like you would for any other member of your family. So, I started
cooking brown rice plus healthy veggies and using that mixture as half of their daily meal. That way I am cutting my dog food purchases in half. Another option is Purina ONE, wholesome wet dog food. I would mix the hard food, with brown rice and some wholesome Purina ONE lamb and rice entee.

I can make extra and put it in my fridge for the next couple days, so it's super easy. Also, look in your local newspaper for coupons on dog food. I am a coupon buff and for an example: I found a coupon for the Purina ONE , buy one get one free.

Your dog is going to love meal time! Remember to add one extra sprinkle of lovies!

Puppia
Isabella looks kind of pouty in this picture but it isn’t because she doesn’t love her Puppia harness, I think it has something to do with eating sand. Boston Terriers are very compact, strong dogs, with sensitive skin. So, we had a hard time finding a harness that would hold her back and not irritate her skin. This harness is stretchy in the right places and soft all over her belly. She was not only stylish at the beach but she was rockin' he harness in comfort.
Check out the different seasonal lines from Puppia at Puppiaus.com.
